Standing Rock Sioux

Mona Susan Power is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux nation, born and raised in Chicago.

She is the author of three novels, The Grass Dancer, Sacred Wilderness, and (just completed) A Council of Dolls, and Roofwalker (a story and essay collection).

The Grass Dancer was awarded the PEN/Hemingway prize, Roofwalker a Milkweed National Fiction Prize, and Sacred Wilderness the Electa Quinney Award. Her short stories and essays have been widely published in journals, magazines and anthologies.
